'Express - Heavy' service is the solution for fast and safe delivery of large and heavy shipments to their final destinations.
We guarantee the loading of shipments in the first available flight regardless of the sizes and weights of the shipments.
Service Features
- Booking Priority
- Customers are given priority to reserve the first available flight of their choice
- However, narrow-body flights are excluded.
- Guaranteed Loading
- Guaranteed quality service with loading on the scheduled flight.
- Guaranteed exclusive space up to 500 kg on passenger flight or 1,000 kg on cargo flight for express shipment.
- Money Back Guarantee
- Up to 100% of the freight-charge is refundable.
- 50% refund: Offload or misconnection from the reserved (or designated) fight schedule.
- 100% refund: Offload or misconnection from the reserved (or designated) flight schedule more than 2 times.
- The total amount of refund shall not exceed USD 5,000 or the equivalent in local currency.
- Up to 100% of the freight-charge is refundable.

- Differentiated service with shipping of documents and goods via dedicated procedure.
- Compensation for partial loss or damage of goods is subject to the "General Conditions of Carriage for International Cargo" and is excluded from MBG.

- 'Express Heavy’ service cannot be provided for shipments that include
- Live animals
- Valuables
- Human remains
- Collect-charged shipments
- Dangerous Goods (Service is applicable to Dangerous Goods of Excepted Quantity.)
- Cutoff/Ready Time
- Cutoff time for acceptance: 180min prior to departure.
- Ready for delivery: 180min after arrival.
- The above applies to normal hours of operation of the applicable Korean Air office, and the hours of operation may vary for each office.

Money Back Guarantee
- Up to 100% of the freight-charge is refundable
- 50% refund: Offload or misconnection from the reserved (or designated) fight schedule.
- 100% refund: Offload or misconnection from the reserved (or designated) flight schedule more than 2 times.
- The refund will be based on the actual freight-charge paid by the customer and will not include other incidental charges.
- In case a delay occurs due to partial shipments, the MBG rules will apply only to the delayed portion of shipments based on weights specified on the packing list made by Shipper. However, MBG is not applicable to partial shipment schedules agreed by the customer.
- Compensation for loss or damage of shipments is subject to the "General Conditions of Carriage for International Cargo" and is excluded from MBG.
Exceptions (MBG shall not apply in case of delays due to the following causes)
- Delay due to reasons beyond the control of Carrier (or relevant parties) including force majeure, natural disaster, war, riot, commotion, strike, Air Traffic Control, safety related procedures, aircraft abnormalities and severe weather conditions.
- However, delay due to the change of flight schedule for commercial reasons is subject to MBG.
- If delay occurs due to misinformation or mistake by shipper/consignee
- If cargo that shows up at the airport exceeds regulated weight or exceeds over 10% of the reserved weight and is not loaded on the applicable flight
- If accepted cargo cannot be loaded due to issues with security screening or customs
- If cargo is not loaded on applicable flight, after prearranging with shipper, for reasons including change of flight schedule for reserved cargo, cancellation of reservation, change of flight, change to general cargo, etc.
- If cargo is not loaded due to difference of contents registered in AWB and contents that show up
- If delay occurs not as a fault of the carrier but as a mistake and error by or misinformation from the shipper or the designee
Money Back Guarantee (MBG) Claim Procedures
- MBG claims should be submitted to the operating carrier at the origin, transit or destination. Once the carrier makes the final decision on MBG claims, money will be given back to the side that paid the freight-charge.
- MBG claims are valid ONLY when submitted in the form of a letter, e-mail, or fax within 21 days from the scheduled delivery date of the shipment.
- MBG claims are valid ONLY when submitted by the shipper or consignee printed on the AWB, or by a duly authorized designee.
The following documents should be enclosed on the MBG claims:
- Application, written and sealed, containing the name and address of claimant (in the form of a letter, fax, or e-mail)
- Packing List (in case of partial shipments)
- Letter of Attorney or proper proof of delegation (in case a designee submits the claim)

- MBG regulation stated on this document is subject to change or cancellation without prior notice based on the circumstances of the carrier.
- Korean Air’s General Conditions of Carriage for International Cargo shall apply for any matters not specified in the above regulation.
