Korean Air has been collaborating with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on the introduction of e-AWB to realize air cargo development and logistics innovation and to contribute to sustainable management of the air cargo industry.
e-AWB is a term that has begun to be used to describe electronic data exchange and is a procedure for performing air cargo transportation using data (EDI) messages instead of paper airway bills.
IATA and related organizations are also continuing to strengthen related procedures with the goal of achieving 100% e-AWB utilization rate from 2019 onwards. Korean Air wants to participate in these efforts and achieve two goals: improving work efficiency and reducing carbon emissions through paperless use in the air cargo industry.
